A popular tale the queens of the clans tell their kits to keep them following the warrior code. It seemed like a fun idea to have some folklore, so I'll take it upon myself to write some!
Once upon a time, there was a deputy so big that he almost looked like a tiger. He was strong and had defeated many enemies for his clan. His name was Redthroat.
Redthroat was strong, yes, but he wasn't friendly. Redthroat loved to kill his enemies, ripping them open with his giant claws. His leader didn't think it was okay, but he kept doing it anyway.
One day, he asked himself: "Why do I have to listen to what that weak leader tells me? Why can't I just ignore the warrior code?"
So, he had enough. He made a plan to kill the leader and become the new leader. The leader he had now was weak and too soft, and he was so much stronger, it would be better for the clan too. Or so he thought.
That night, Starclan sent the leader a message in the form of a dream to look out for the traitor. The leader was wise, and always trusted in Starclan's wisdom. Redthroat didn't stand a chance, and was banished from his clan before he could lay a single claw on the kind and noble leader.
Redthroat didn't survive outside the clan for long. Everyone knew he was a bad cat and didn't want to help him or be friendly to him. He truly was an outcast.
He thought he wasn't going to get punished after he had died, but he did. Now, he is still wandering around in the place of no stars, where there is no light or warmth. Still thirsty for blood, you better thank Starclan for protecting you from him, little ones.
Moral: Don't be like Redthroat and follow the warrior code. Respect your leader, and you will get respected too.

The grown-ups probably tell stories about them so they won't be forgotten.
